Subject:Position in Manufacturing Policy @ McMaster (Ontario)Date:Tue, 19 Aug 2014 13:00:23 -0400From:Michelle Dion <dionm@MCMASTER.CA>

We're conducting a search for a candidate for a chair in manufacturing policy (sponsored by a local steel manufacturer). It is essentially an open-rank search, though there is a preference for someone either near Associate or already Associate/Full level. The expectation is that the
candidate will have a background in either economics or political science OR in engineering--but ideally a bit of both. McMaster is in Hamilton, Ontario, about an hour from the Niagara border and an hour from Toronto. A significant number of faculty members (myself included) commute from
Toronto (and there's a mass transit option to do so). The university has a medical school, strong programs in engineering, and excellent research support. I'm happy to answer questions about the position or McMaster.

We hope to invite candidates ASAP.

Cheers,
